Jason Schneider “Salute to a Hero” Memorial Golf Tournament:

Held annually on the first Monday in May at Hayfields Country Club, Hunt Valley, MD, the tournament is the signature event presented by the Blue Valor Foundation. The tournament is a “captains choice” format, shotgun start, with competitions for longest drive and closest to the pin. The tournament provides prizes for teams finishing in first through fifth places. The tournament has featured appearances by sports legends Brooks Robinson (Baltimore Orioles), Ron Hansen (Baltimore Orioles), Tom Matte (Baltimore Colts), Al Bumbry (Baltimore Orioles), Andy North (ESPN, Two Time U.S. Open winner), prominent politicians as well as sponsorship from none other than the late PGA Hall of Famer, “The King”, Arnold Palmer. This event has quickly become one of the premiere golf events in the Baltimore area and has a waiting list for participation. To find out more, contact T.J. Stetson at tjstetson@bluevalorfoundation.org.

Andy Nelson’s BBQ Restaurant Fundraiser

Andy Nelson and his son Andy Nelson Jr. are steadfast in their support of local First Responders. Local First Responders routinely make the afternoon pilgrimage to the restaurant to sample some of the best BBQ in the Baltimore area. Andy is always available to greet his guests and takes extra pride in his relationship with his police and fire fighter friends. So much so, that he decided to throw a party and raise some money to benefit The Blue Valor Foundation in October, 2016. This event was such a success that we are making it an annual “thing”.  In October, 2017 Andy will be donating 20% of the days’ proceeds to the Blue Valor Foundation! As always, there will be special guests throughout the day so keep your eyes open for former Baltimore Colts and Orioles greats, as well as some other folks you might know. The date is still to be determined but will coincide with a Ravens away game so that we can watch the game on the BIG SCREEN in the Pigskin Palace! Stay tuned for more details.
